SERVICES & APPROACH
How I work
I offer individual trauma therapy for adults in Colorado, drawing on four approaches to support your goals and work at a pace that feels manageable.
TRAUMA THERAPY
Areas of focus
I support adults navigating PTSD, complex trauma and the effects of adverse childhood experiences through online therapy across Colorado.
01
PTSD
Work with the effects of distressing or shock-related experiences.
02
Complex trauma (CPTSD)
Explore enduring patterns linked to developmental or repeated trauma.
03
ACEs
Consider how adverse childhood experiences continue to shape the present.
FOUR METHODS
Therapeutic approaches
I draw on these approaches to support your goals, with attention to your experiences, preferences and pace.
01
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
A collaborative, goal-oriented approach that builds on your strengths and the changes you want to see in your life.
-
Your preferred future. I help you describe what you want life to look like, rather than focusing only on what is wrong.
Strengths and exceptions. I ask about times when a difficulty was less intense or absent, and explore what helped. Your experience and resources guide the work.
Small, practical steps. Questions about your preferred future—including the “miracle question”—help clarify goals. Scaling questions from 0 to 10 can make progress and your next manageable step easier to recognize.
-
A practical, hopeful conversation. You bring expertise about your own life; I offer questions that help you identify useful possibilities.
02
NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM®)
An approach to developmental, relational and complex trauma that explores the connections between emotions, the body and patterns in relationships.
-
The present, informed by the past. I explore how earlier experiences shape your life now, without requiring you to relive every detail of the past.
Mind, body and survival patterns. I help you notice thoughts, emotions and sensations, along with patterns such as people-pleasing, shutting down or overachieving that may once have been protective.
Connection and agency. I support exploration of authenticity, boundaries, trust and your capacity to make choices, with curiosity about what gets in the way of connection.
-
A compassionate, collaborative space to explore your experience and relationship with yourself and others. You remain an active participant in your own change.
03
Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART®)
A structured approach that uses guided eye movements and imagery to work with distressing memories and the responses connected to them.
-
Focus without every detail. I guide attention toward images, sensations and emotions. You do not need to tell me every detail of a memory aloud.
Guided eye movements. I guide you through eye movements while helping you notice changes in physical sensations and emotional distress.
Voluntary image replacement. You can choose more calming or empowering images while retaining your knowledge of what happened. You remain in control of the imagery.
-
A guided, collaborative process with attention to your comfort and pace. The amount of work needed varies with your experiences and goals.
04
Somatic Experiencing® (SE®)
A body-oriented approach that explores how overwhelming experiences can affect your nervous system and protective responses.
-
Tracking. I help you notice sensations such as warmth, tingling or tightness, and become curious about what is happening in your body.
Pendulation and titration. I guide attention between sensations of ease and discomfort, approaching difficult experiences in small, manageable pieces.
Protective responses. I help you explore patterns related to fight, flight or freeze, with attention to a greater sense of safety and capacity in the present.
-
A gradual process centered on bodily awareness. I follow your pace and may integrate this work with other therapeutic approaches.
THE NEXT STEP
A conversation before a commitment.
Ask me about my approach, share what you are looking for and explore whether working with me feels right for you.
